Homeopathy addresses Infertility

By Fran Sinclair Taylor RSHom - Article in PDF

Women spend their younger days trying to avoid pregnancy and then later, when they want to become pregnant it can be a truly nasty shock to realise that now perhaps pregnancy may elude them. We take our fertility for granted. It feels like our right to have a child when we want one. This problem singles you out painfully among the female population most of whom manage to conceive normally.

At least one in six couples needs specialist help with infertility (BMJ 1985). Reasons include failure of ovulation, tubal damage, endometriosis, cervical mucous dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome and sperm defects. In up to a third of cases infertility is unexplained and this can be an even more frustrating for couples than having an explanation.

All these issues can be addressed with homeopathy.

With homeopathic remedies we can address both the physical symptoms that have been identified as problematic and the emotional issues that can arise between the couple as a result of the situation. The difficulty of timing intercourse, the feelings of failure, of letting your partner down, the hope and crushing despair that repeats over again every month.

Homeopathic remedies work with the vitality of the individual to correct any imbalance, leading to a healthier physical and emotional state where conception is much more likely to occur. Both partners can be treated, leading to a sense that the problem is shared and the responsibility does not just lie with one person.

Homeopathy takes a holistic approach to this difficult problem. This will suit couples who do not necessarily want to go down the medical intervention route, or those who have tried it without success.
